How to Analyze Damage to a Laptop or Computer

How to Analyze damage to a Laptop or Computer – Laptops and computers are the most commonly used devices in doing office work. Laptops and computers will facilitate our work, such as typing, making letters, counting, editing images, and making work presentations. However, the more often a laptop or computer is used, sometimes the computer or laptop also experiences problems such as the laptop cannot be started, the machine or notebook encounters a hang, the bluescreen laptop or even has a total shutdown.

Damage to the laptop can be categorized into two, namely: massive loss and minor damage. If the computer is experiencing extensive damage such as total death, then I suggest to bring it to a computer expert or computer service. However, if your laptop or computer only suffered minor damage, of course, we can fix it ourselves. At this time, I will share tips and how to analyze damage to laptops and computers.

1. Recognize the indicators and signs that appear when the computer is first turned on.

Recognizing the indicators and symptoms that appear when first turned on is very important because the symbols that arise can be a reference to analyze the damage and steps to fix it, such as beep codes or warning messages on the monitor screen. Beep codes can be a clue if the device experiences problems such as video card, LAN card, RAM, motherboard, and processor. Beep codes will usually adjust the type of bios used, so each bio has a different beep code.

Meanwhile, if there is an error message from the monitor screen is usually accompanied by a warning message, including: “hard disk failure,” “blue screen appears.” The most natural step you can try to remove and check the relevant peripherals.

2. The monitor screen is dark, and the indicator light remains on.

After the laptop or computer is turned on, of course, we will observe the symptoms that appear on the device. If the computer is turned on, but the monitor screen is dark, or there is no display at all, then usually the damage occurs on our LCD screen. But to ensure this, we can use another monitor or an external monitor if we use a laptop.

The LCD itself is divided into three parts: flexible, inverter and LCD itself if the flexible cable is having problems we can check by shaking the rope, if at first glance there is a display on the monitor then this shows that the damage is flexible. However, if the damage to the inverter and LCD, then we have to replace it with a new one because the inverter and LCD are one.

3. The laptop cannot be charged

If the computer cannot be loaded, the possibility of damage to the computer Ces or other devices on the motherboard is the motherboard IC power and Jack Power.

If the laptop is experiencing a case like this, the step taken is to try first with another charge. If you still can’t do the charger, then there is a possibility of damage to the power jack or IC power. To check the power jack or IC power, we have to disassemble the laptop.

4. The laptop or computer cannot boot

If the computer or computer cannot boot / cannot turn on and cannot enter the operating system, then there are two possibilities, namely: software damage and hardware damage. If the damage to the software steps, we can repair the operating system that is used, or if it still cannot, the most natural step is to reinstall the operating system.

If there is a problem with the hardware, then we can check the device hard disk, RAM, or VGA card. To see the issues on the hard disk, we can go into the bios menu and ensure the hard drive is still detected on our laptop. If on the RAM, then we can remove the RAM and clean it, then replace the RAM or try installing it in another slot.
